Do I need to register to purchase power on Buypower GH?

Yes, you will need to register for an account to link your meter and manage your purchases.

How do I create an account?

You can register via the Buypower Gh app or website using a working  phone number or valid email address and . You will be asked to verify your details.

 I forgot my password. How can I reset it?

Click the “Forgot Password” link on the login page and follow the instructions to receive a password reset link via SMS or email

Can I register multiple meters on one account?

Yes, you can typically add and manage multiple meters within a single account, which is useful for managing power for different properties.

What information do i need when buying electricity credit?

You will need your meter number and your preferred payment method details.

 How do I know if my meter is compatible with the app/platform?

The platform is designed for smart meters. When you try to add your meter number, the system will verify compatibility. If it’s not a smart meter, the system won’t add it.

 What payment methods are accepted?

Mobile money options (like MTN MOMO, AT CASH  and telecelCash), and other local payment solutions and most Debit cards are accepted.

Why did my transaction fail?

Transaction failures can occur due to various reasons, including network issues, insufficient funds, or incorrect payment details. Please check your payment information and try again. If the issue persists, contact customer support.

Post-Purchase and Support

What if my token is not generated after payment?

If payment is successful but the token is delayed, first check the app for your purchase history, as tokens are often stored there. If you still don’t have it, contact customer support with your transaction details.

Would I receive my token via SMS. What can I do?

Tokens are accessible within the platform’s transaction history section and not via SMS. You can also retrieve them on receipts generated after purchase.

 Is there a service charge for using the platform?

There is no service charge when you purchase power on BuyPower GH. The exact power purchased is charged to your meter.

Are all ECG smart meters compatible with the BuyPower GH platform?

Yes, All ECG prepaid smart meters and postpaid meters are compatible with the BuyPower GH platform

Can I still use your platform if I live outside Accra?

Yes you can use the Buypower GH app to buy electricity credit anywhere in Ghana as long as you own an ECG meter.

Do I need a special mobile phone to use the Buypower GH platform?

You only need an Android or Apple (iOS) platform  mobile phone to download, install and use the BuyPower GH app

Am I entitled to a refund if a transaction isn’t completed on the BuyPower GH app?

Yes, a refund would be sent back to your paying platform, ie Mobile Money or debit card.

Is there a transaction charge when buying ECG units on the BuyPower GH platform?

No, there is no transactional charges when you buy electricity credit on the BuyPower GH platforms.

Can all prepaid meters be charged with BuyPower GH app?

Yes, all ECG PREPAID meters can be charged with the BuyPower GH platform.

Can more than one account recharge the same or one meter?

Yes, any account can recharge any meter.

Can more than one payment platform (wallet) be used to purchase power on the platform?

Yes, you can use multiple payment options or platforms to purchase electricity credit on the BuyPower GH platform

Can I pay postpaid meter bills on the BuyPower GH platform?

Yes, the platform has an option for securely paying postpaid meter bills.

Is my data safe on the BuyPower GH platform?

Yes, your data is safe and secure on the BuyPower GH platform as the platform complies with the data protection laws of Ghana as overseen by the Data Protection Commission of Ghana.
